Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry helped a stranger take a selfie while hiking in Canada

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have been enjoying "private time" with baby Archie in British Columbia, and reportedly celebrated New Year's Day with a hike on Vancouver Island. While in the woods, the Sussexes noticed another couple, Asymina Kantorowicz and Iliya Pavlovic, struggling to take a selfie with a selfie stick. So they decided to lend a hand.

"We've been doing this hike on New Year's Day for the past two years," hiker Asymina recounted to People. "We took a little picnic out and we were finishing up and trying to get some selfies with the nice backdrop when a woman came up to us and asked if we wanted her to take our photo."

Asymina said she had noticed the group, along with their two dogs, but it took her a while to realize Meghan was the woman who asked to take their photo.

Asymina is a producer at CTV News Vancouver Island, and her bio says she's a fan of Suits. So she recognized another member of the group: Abigail Spencer.

When it clicked that it was Abigail, the hiker realized Prince Harry and Meghan were there, too!

"I froze up. I actually couldn't believe who it was. Then I looked over to the side and that's when I realized Prince Harry was standing there," the starstruck hiker said. "I kept looking back and forth like, 'Is this actually happening?'"

"The only thing I could think to say to her was, 'There's only so much that selfie sticks can do,'" Asymina continued to People. "[Meghan] laughed and said something like, 'We'll have to take a good photo then,' and then Harry said, 'No pressure.'"

Meghan snapped the photo for the couple, then reportedly wished them a Happy New Year, and the groups went their separate ways.

The Sussexes have managed to keep a low-profile on their extended leave from royal duties. There have only been a couple of reports of people seeing them. But they have kept royal fans updated through the Sussex Royal Instagram account.

On Dec. 31, the family shared an adorable photo of Prince Harry and Archie, which was reportedly taken by Meghan! Prior to that, the couple uploaded their Christmas card online on Dec. 24. Saved in GIF format, it featured a sweet photo of their little boy crawling toward a camera and staring into the lens while they laughed in the background. That picture was taken by actress Janina Gavankar, a friend of Meghan's who is known for her work on TV shows such as The L Word and True Blood.
