Prince Charles said to be considering cameo in upcoming James Bond movie

We may see Prince Charles on the big screen next year! Reports suggest the future King was offered a cameo in the upcoming 25th James Bond film when he visited Daniel Craig on set back in June.

“When he visited the film set a few weeks ago it was discussed. Now he is considering it,” a source told The Sun.

You might remember the Queen appeared in a spoof video at the London Olympics opening ceremony in 2012. The hilarious short, helmed by Trainspotting director Danny Boyle, showed Daniel arriving at Buckingham Palace to pick up Her Majesty before she went “skydiving” alongside 007 and eventually “parachuted” into Olympic Park. The clip’s warm reception is part of the reason the Prince of Wales is entertaining the role, reports say.

At the time, a Buckingham Palace spokesman Her Majesty, who had a stunt double, was “very happy” to take part and was “delighted to be asked to be involved in something so exceptional.”

“They loved the buzz around the Queen’s appearance alongside Daniel Craig and think Charles could top even that,” The Sun source added. “He is the epitome of everything British, perfect for a cameo role and Bond fans worldwide would absolutely love it.”

During the prince’s film set tour, Daniel showed Charles one of eight DB5s. They are classic Bond cars from the 1960s, which have been built especially from new for the upcoming Bond film.

“The cars are the interesting thing here, much more interesting," The Sun reports Charles said as the pair posed in front of the DB5 and an Aston Martin Vantage from around 1980.

Producer Barbara Broccoli , who was also there at the time, told the publication Charles and Daniel had “a lot to talk about.”

“They both have a love for Aston Martin… Boys with toys!" The Sun reports she joked.

According to HELLO! UK, Charles also met members of the crew in MI6 headquarters, including costume designer Suttirat Larlarb .

“He was commenting on how many costumes we make, which must go through all kinds of action, and what a big job it must be,” Suttirat said. “I agreed wholeheartedly!”

If Charles does appear in the film, royal watchers will want to mark their calendars: The as-yet-untitled Bond flick, which is going by Bond 25 for now, opens April 3, 2020. It features Oscar-winner Rami Malek in the villain role.
