Watch: Meghan Markle rushed out of Fiji's Suva Market by new female security guard

The women at Fiji's Suva Market were excited to have their moment with the Duchess of Sussex, but it never came. Meghan Markle arrived for her second solo engagement of the royal tour, where she was meant to spend 15 minutes meeting some of the female vendors involved in the UN's Markets for Change program, but was quickly ushered out due to conditions that a royal aide called "hot, humid and uncomfortably busy" for the pregnant royal. The Sussexes' new female protection officer, who remains unnamed for security reasons, made the call to leave after only eight minutes.

Clad in a pretty floral Figue dress with her black Castaner espadrilles and fresh flowers in her hair, the 37-year-old arrived at the market from tea at the British High Commissioner's residence. The vendors had waited hours to meet the duchess, who has made female empowerment one of her top priorities as a royal and previously worked with the UN, but she was whisked away into a waiting car in a rather dramatic turn of events.

Once it was determined that there were "far larger crowds than expected," Meghan's bodyguard cleared the path to get her out calmly yet swiftly, telling people to move aside. The mom-to-be smiled as she followed the blond Personal Protection Officer (PPO), smiling for a quick photo before getting into her car with her bodyguard closing the door behind her.

Their new security officer took over for Sergeant Bill Renshaw, Prince Harry's longtime head of security who retired after 30 years. She has been with the couple throughout their tour after starting on a few months ago, and has maintained the same busy schedule of engagements - dressing in plain clothes for each occasion, even wearing heels when needed. And Meghan isn't alone in having a woman by her side to protect her. Duchess Kate has had PPO Emma Probert by her side since 2011, when she said "I do" to Prince William, and the Duchess of Cornwall also has a female protection agent.
