Meghan Markle is cutting back her tour schedule for a few days: 'She's feeling fine, but resting'

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their pregnancy on Oct. 15, they assured fans that they'd be undertaking their tour as planned - all 76 engagements scheduled over 16 days in four Commonwealth countries. And mom-to-be Meghan Markle has been the ultimate trooper, attending multiple events each day with a huge smile on her face. But the gruelling schedule may have caught up with the pregnant royal, who announced that she'd be taking some time off over the next few days.

According to HELLO! royal editor Emily Nash, a palace aide revealed the new to press in Australia. "After a busy programme, The Duke and Duchess have decided to cut back The Duchess's schedule slightly for the next couple of days, ahead of the final week and a half of the tour," she tweeted. "The Duke will attend the [Invictus Games] cycling as scheduled this morning, and The Duchess will join him for this afternoon's engagements. The Duke will continue with the engagements on Fraser Island as planned."

The former actress will accompany Prince Harry to Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island, but she may alter her schedule while there given the difficult terrain. She's also set to join her husband at the rest of today's scheduled events - a reception hosted by the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, as well as the Invictus Games sailing event. As for her health, the aide was clear that she's "She'd feeling fine, but resting."

The 37-year-old has been candid about the exhaustion she's facing while on tour. Royal reporter Emily Andrews spoke to 35-year-old fan Charlotte Waverley, who revealed the chat she'd had with Meghan on Bondi Beach on Oct. 19. “She told me that pregnancy was like having jet lag. She said she was up at 4:30 am this am doing yoga in her room as she couldn’t sleep. It’s a bit of a double whammy for her, she said, as she has both the baby and jet lag to contend with.”

The couple will head to Fraser Island on Oct. 22, where there are a number of engagements on the schedule. They are supposed to unveil a plaque dedicating the Forests of K’gari to the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy before visiting Lake McKenzie, travelling to McKenzie's Jetty and undertaking a walkabout at Kingfisher Bay Jetty. It remains to be seen which engagements the duchess will attend, but it's sure to be a fun-filled day regardless!
