Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix date nights sound very familiar

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s whirlwind romance has taken the world by storm, and though they may be royalty and poised to have the weddings of the decade on May 19, these two are just like the rest of us – especially when it comes to date nights. In the new book Harry: Life, Loss, and Love , author Katie Nicholl reveals that the duo love staying in and binge-watching their favourite Netflix series!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle: A timeline of their romance

When their romance was at peak secrecy over the last few years, the former actress and her royal beau had to be quiet about their whereabouts. And when they weren’t hiding out with her friends the Mulroneys in Toronto, the couple could hole up at Harry’s former bachelor pad, Nottingham Cottage. Their date-night activity of choice was luckily very low key – cooking a homemade meal and hunkering down with The Crown!

Of their cozy nights, Katie wrote: “An accomplished cook, Meghan loved to make extravagant dinners for Harry, and they enjoyed staying in and eating her delicious homemade meals and watching films and TV shows like The Crown on Netflix.” And the show – a dramatization of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II’s life – must be an interesting watch for the two, given their close personal ties with the monarch.

Shortly before their big engagement in November , Meghan left her American life behind to join her prince in England, where she quickly settled in and made the cottage her home, too. While spending so much time in hiding, save for a Christmas tree shopping trip to London’s Pines and Needles, the Suits alum wanted the space to feel like hers too. “[Meghan] had a wardrobe of clothes in Harry’s closet and had flown several more suitcases of belongings over,” the book says. “She referred to Kensington Palace as ‘home,’ and there were reports in the press that she had unofficially moved in with Harry. She had certainly transformed Nottingham Cottage, tastefully adding some feminine touches to the bachelor décor, including fresh flowers, organic cookbooks and her favorite Le Labo Santal 26 scented candles.”

Meghan and Harry will say “I do” on May 19 at Windsor Castle, and while they’re bound to be busier than ever following their big day, we’re hoping they’ll keep their date-night routine as relatable as it is now.
