It’s been a stylish year for Princess Beatrice who, along with the Duchess of Cambridge and Queen Letizia, has risen through the ranks to become one of the world’s most fashionable royals.
But it wasn’t always sartorially smooth sailing for the Princess of York. The doe-eyed beauty was criticized for sporting an unusual headpiece at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011, a move that launched the British Princess into the international spotlight.
Handling the criticism with grace and humour, “Yorkiebea” (as she calls herself on Twitter) auctioned off the much-talked-about fascinator on eBay for more than $130,000, with the proceeds benefitting children’s charities.
Since then, the redheaded royal has been spotted at more and more fashion events, including London Fashion Week this year, while garnering praise for her chic, effortless style.
As the seventh in line to the throne celebrates her 27th birthday on Aug. 8, Hello! looks back at Beatrice’s dramatic style evolution.
