Kanye West and Taylor Swift shock fans on a surprising dinner date

Despite Kanye West’s behaviour during his famous “Imma let you finish” tirade at the 2009 Video Music Awards, when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech to imply that she’s not worthy, it seems the two are on a path of rapprochement - one that started at the GRAMMYs, where they hugged and pose for pictures.

On Tuesday night (Feb. 17), the powerhouse pair dined together in New York’s West Village at the Spotted Pig, arriving and departing separately. It looks like Kanye and Taylor may be discussing a collaboration.

All this is clearly water under the bridge for the songbird as she’s even considering collaborating with the Bound 2 musician.

“Yeah, she wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in,” Kanye said, speaking on a US chat show. “Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work. I don’t discriminate, I don’t have an elitism of music because of like how many Grammys or you know, the amount of ratings you get on an album.”

However, Kim Kardashian’s husband clearly hasn’t lost his capacity for creating shockwaves. He pretended to storm the stage again during this year’s Grammys, when Beck was receiving an award later explaining that “the voices in my head made me do it”.

He got half way up to the podium and then made as if to sit down again when Beck surprisingly invited him up to finish what he was saying.

Kanye said: “What I really wanted to do (was) just joke around about what had happened before (with Taylor), but I just really didn’t want to take away from Beck’s moment or the time he’s having to talk.

“The Grammys, they play music really quick no matter who you are and everything. So I didn’t want anything to take away from his screen time.”

Beck afterwards showed that he took the joke in the spirit in which it was intended. “ I was just so excited he was coming up,” he told reporters following Sunday’s ceremony. “You can’t please everybody, man. I still love him and think he’s genius. I aspire to do what he does.”
