I never followed any diet, I love good food,” she told Madame Figaro. “I have a good metabolism.”

The Danish model also admitted that fitness had not been at the forefront of her mind when she was younger, but that in recent years she had discovered which sports worked best for her.

I started doing sports quite late, around 30 years,” she said. “I started because I wanted to feel more toned. I hate endurance sports, it would be impossible for me to run a marathon. I love the intense sports, such as boxing or sprint.”

Helena revealed she prefers to exercise with her family

The brunette beauty revealed that fitness isn’t her main priority however, and that she tries to combine working out with spending quality time with her musician boyfriend Paul Banks, as well as her son Mingus, from her previous relationship with Norman Reedus.

I like to spend time outdoors with my son and partner,” she explained. “Or to leave for the weekend to the mountains north of New York to run outside.”

It comes as no surprise that Helena tries to maximise the use of her rare days off. When she’s not sitting on the front row at Fashion Week or attending the industry’s glitziest events, the star’s successful career has seen her not only conquer the world of modelling, but also photography.

Snapping stars from Liv Tyler to Julianne Moore for some of the world’s biggest magazines, Helena has firmly established herself as a well-respected fashion photographer. She also works on campaigns for charity Oxfam, for whom she is an ambassador.
