GRAMMYs 2015: All the red-carpet looks

When Kim Kardashian and Kanye West hit the red carpet at the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards, not only were we completely bowled over by Kim’s bedazzled Jean Paul Gaultier robe but we also finally got an explanation for Kanye’s rather grim facial tendencies. "Not smiling makes me smile," he joked.

Madonna also made a dazzling appearance in a Givenchy burlesque-meets-matador ensemble, the type of costume-worthy look that GRAMMY fashion dreams are made of – from the bull-fighter chapeau with netting right down to her thigh-high boots, which the performer explained have nails in them.

A vision in teal (dress and Lorraine Schwartz earrings!), Taylor Swift stepped away from her usual metallic GRAMMYs choices in a mullet-style stunner by Elie Saab. And just when we thought the surprise was over, a look at the “Shake It Off” nominee’s shoes revealed a pop of purple!

Our favourite musical sisters, Este, Danielle and Alana Haim, were a monochromatic dream in Stella McCartney and Chloe. “I feel nice and cozy in this dress,” said Este of her black gown. “The fringe is giving me faux fur vibes.”

Rocking a jumpsuit and looking every inch the style star she’s proven to be, Gwen Stefani – who promised more wearable artwork on stage – was in awe of her own Atelier Versace number. “They are unbelievable, they are masters. Watching them create this? They literally sewed this thing by hand!”

But the most eye-catching look of the evening was definitely Rihanna’s frothy, pink Giambattista Valli look – layer upon layer of pink tulle stemming from a chain-lined, strapless band. Princess meets punk? Perfection.
