Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick perform 'True Colors' at Cannes

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake have added their slow and sweet rendition of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" to a long list of covers paying tribute to the famous ditty. The pair took to the stage in France for a live performance on May 11, the day that the Cannes Film Festival kicked off. Justin and Anna are at the famed event promoting the new animated movie Trolls (in theatres Nov. 4), to which they lent their voices.

According to several sources, the 30-year-old actress and 35-year-old former 'NSYNC member surprised the crowd and joked around with everyone before the performance. Justin even introduced them as "Anna and Garfunkel." A video of the short and sweet duet shows the pop star playing guitar while carrying a tune alongside the Pitch Perfect favourite.

Back in January, Anna and Justin appeared together in some fun ads for the hotly anticipated flick, joining fellow cast members Gwen Stefani, James Corden, Russell Brand and Kunal Nayyar.

The dad of one also dropped his first single in almost three years for the toy-based film, an infectious song called "Can't Stop the Feeling," which has already been dubbed the "song of the summer." Speaking to Capital London Breakfast Show in the U.K., Justin said he's writing a lot of music right now.

"I don't want to put anything out there that I have to keep promises on, but it's moving along nicely with Pharrell, the usual suspects and the Swedes - I'm kind of mixing it up this time."

For her part, Anna has been busy shooting five other films for release in 2016, including The Hollars and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates - plus 2017's highly anticipated Pitch Perfect 3.
