5 must-see TV moments this week: Michael Bublé's holiday special, 'Transparent' and more

From shocking cliffhangers to laugh-out-loud moments, here are the top small-screen shows that will have everyone talking around the water cooler.

Telenovela (series première Dec. 7, NBC): Three years after saying farewell to the character of Gabrielle Solis on Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria returns to primetime in a role she created for herself. In the comedy, the 40-year-old actress plays a Spanish soap opera star who tries her best to hide the fact that she doesn’t speak the language.

Michael Bublé’s Christmas in Hollywood (Dec. 10, NBC): The Canadian crooner has recruited some famous friends for his fifth holiday special, including fellow Canuck Celine Dion. While Blake Shelton, Tori Kelly and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings lend their voices to some classic holiday hits, stars like Eva Longoria, Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner drop by to help Michael spread some festive cheer.

The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (Dec. 8, Global/CBS): Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid make their debut on the iconic runway, alongside veteran angels Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Aldridge, Behati Prinsloo and Adriana Lima. This year's edition of the sexy fashion show features performances by the Weeknd, Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding.

Modern Family (Dec. 9, City/ABC): The Pritchett-Dunphy gang head to the mountains to celebrate Christmas as a family, only to discover an unwanted tenant already lives in their rental cabin. The always hilarious Andrea Martin guest stars as Fig, a eccentric woman who adds a little excitement to the holiday festivities.

Transparent (season 2 debut Dec. 11, Shomi): The new season of the critically acclaimed drama kicks off with the Pfefferman family gathering together to celebrate the wedding of Sarah and Tammy. Also this season, while Maura (Jeffrey Tambor) contemplates gender reassignment surgery, her children continue to struggle with personal relationships.
