Andrea Martin will host the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards

From one Martin to another: Andrea Martin will replace Martin Short as the host of the 2015 Canadian Screen Awards, an annual event that honours the best in Canadian film, television and digital media. Andrea is an Emmy Award-winning writer and renowned across Canada for her work on SCTV - a long-running and beloved comedy sketch show that ended in 1984.

"I'm thrilled to be hosting the CSAs," said the SCTV alum in a statement. "Especially since the film and television awards have converged on one special night. It gives Canadians everywhere, more time to figure out what’s happening on Orphan Black."

The CSAs debuted in 2013, consolidating the formerly separate Genie Awards and Gemini Awards. Comic-legend Martin hosted the event in 2013 and in 2014.

Last year's gala was a night to remember, as the Academy honoured industry heavyweights like Jason Priestley, Tatiana Maslany and David Cronenberg. Andrea's favourite, Orphan Black, was the big winner of the night, taking home a whopping 10 awards last year.

There was also plenty of action behind the scenes at the Hello! Canada portrait studio, where celebrity photographer George Pimentel snapped playful portraits of the night's biggest stars.

The two-hour Canadian Screen Awards show will broadcast live from Toronto’s Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts on the CBC on March 1.
