Duchess Kate stuns in pink and the Queen pays tribute to Canada at Buckingham Palace garden party

The Duchess of Cambridge has had an incredibly busy last few days! The mom of three debuted her Back to Nature Garden at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show over the weekend. She brought her kids and husband Prince William to see it on Sunday (May 19), and the next day family members including the Queen, Princess Beatrice and more came out to support her at the garden’s debut. Less than 24 hours later, Kate and William stepped out again, this time at the Buckingham Palace garden party.

Kate chose a double-breasted Alexander McQueen coat dress for the event, which she paired with a matching Juliette Botterill fascinator, a similarly pink clutch, and nude heels. She arrived with William, who was wearing yet another dapper suit and carrying a tophat and umbrella to shield the couple from the sun.

The Queen, who was not at last week’s first garden party of the season (hosted byPrince Charles), wore a light blue Stewart Parvin coat, printed dress and Rachel Trevor-Morgan hat. She sported white gloves, a black handbag, black loafers, and brought an umbrella to shield her from the sun. Her Majesty topped the look off with a pair of chic sunglasses, epitomizing royal cool.

Canadians may recognize the brooch the Queen wore – it’s the Sapphire Jubilee Snowflake brooch! It was designed by Canadian jewellers Hillberg and Berk and features diamonds and several sapphires from Baffin Island. Former Governor-General David Johnston gifted it to her when Her Majesty paid a visit to Canada House in London to mark the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation in 2017. The gorgeous pin is intended to mark her 65th anniversary on the throne.

On Monday, Kate made two appearances at the Chelsea Flower Show. In the morning, Kate dressed down in a white blouse and brown trousers, and chose sneakers for the event, at which she climbed into a treehouse built into the garden. She co-designed the plot with RHS landscape artists Andrée Davies and Adam White.

In the evening, Kate chose a floral print Erdem “Shebah” dress. The look is very similar to one sported by Princess Eugenie at Maundy Thursday service with the Queen. The Duchess of Kent actually wore the exact same dress to Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding in 2018!
