Prince Harry's black mystery ring isn't what you think - and may help him as a dad!

Prince Harry has been sporting a new accessory since embarking on a 16-day royal tour with wife Meghan Markle, and it's not one of the traditional Akubra hats the couple were gifted in Sydney! While his wedding band remains firmly in place on his left ring finger, the 34-year-old has been wearing a black ring on his right hand - and fans have been wondering what it is.

The mystery band has been front and centre as the royal greets fans during walkabouts and goes out on engagements and, as it turns out, it's not just a piece of jewellery. According to People, the new adornment on his ring finger is actually a sleep and activity tracker called the Oura ring.

The product promises to be his "new secret weapon for personal improvement" - and it's no wonder that with the prince's hectic schedule he'd want to get the best sleep possible. The wearable tracks body temperature to monitor sleep while also keeping tabs on your daily activity, and connects to an app on your smartphone. The ring comes in two styles - Balance or Heritage - and four colours (black, rose gold, silver and a deep grey). The duke has opted for the Heritage in black, which retails for $520.

As he and Meghan prepare to welcome their first child in the spring of 2019, it's no wonder the father-to-be would be looking to better his sleep and stock up while he can! On his recent trip to Africa, Harry's brother Prince William joked that Duchess Kate was sad not to be there (she was on maternity leave with their third child, Prince Louis) but mostly she was jealous of the nights of uninterrupted sleep he'd enjoy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed their exciting news on Oct. 15, releasing a statement through Kensington Palace. "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
