Bella Hadid opens up about boyfriend The Weeknd: 'I really love Abel'

When it comes to her boyfriend, Bella Hadid keeps the two sides of the Canadian singer's persona very separate. In a new interview with Glamour, the model distinguished between The Weeknd, the wildly popular recording artist, and Abel Tesfaye, her boyfriend since May 2015.

“I’m proud of The Weeknd and the music he makes, but I really love Abel,” the 19-year-old explained. “I’m dating Abel. I don’t see him as The Weeknd.”

Still, despite loving the man behind the megawatt success, Gigi Hadid's catwalking sister is thrilled to support her other half professionally. The pair made their red-carpet debut at the 2016 GRAMMYs, where The Weeknd scooped up awards for Best R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album.

“It was a big night for him,” she said. “He has worked so hard, and he did so well that night. As a girlfriend I wanted to be there to support him. Seeing him so happy when he won a Grammy made me so happy."

Bella and the "Can't Feel My Face" singer made quite the dazzling duo on the red carpet, she in a plunging black gown by Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture and he in a black-on-black tuxedo look.

Yolanda Foster's daughter also opened up about another important relationship in her life: her bond with sister Gigi, 21. Both beauties have secured spots on the world's most coveted runways, but their closeness runs much deeper than their work.

“We’ve always been close. As kids, especially on weekends, our mom would drive us to the barn at 6:30 a.m., and we would spend the day together riding our horses, and washing and cleaning them,” she recalled.

"We’re definitely a lot more similar than people think. We have the same voice, the same mannerisms. Sometimes we’ll finish each other’s sentences, or we’ll be the only people laughing.”
