The feminine, floral brooch is set in 18K white gold and features petals made from pink, purple and reddish tourmaline. In its centre sits a white, freshwater pearl surrounded by 300 diamonds.
The piece is valued at $15,000 and was presented by Saskatchewan Lieut. Gov. Vaughn Solomon Schofield, who also made a donation in the Queen's name to a charity that promotes the education of girls in the developing world.
“At Hillberg & Berk we design jewellery with strong influential women in mind,” said Rachel Mielke, designer and founder of Hillberg & Berk in a statement. “Her Majesty is a modern icon who has devoted her life to improving the lives of others, it was an honour to create a piece that reflects her strength and beauty.”
Rachel is no stranger to designing jewelry for the stars, with her Hillberg & Berk designs donned by the likes of Celine Dion, Michelle Obama, Carrie Underwood, Barbara Walters and Sarah McLachlan.
