'I'm so excited': Courteney Cox shares her thoughts on the 'Friends' reunion

The Friends reunion is finally happening! After endless rumours, HBO Max confirmed on Feb. 22 that the entire cast – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – would reunite for an unscripted special that will celebrate the iconic sitcom. In a new interview, Courteney spoke about how she is as thrilled as the rest of us for the highly anticipated special.

The actress, who played Monica Geller on the NBC show, gave an interview on the webseries Hiking with Kevin, just before the official announcement was made, according to E!.

"So the exciting thing is that we're all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and it's going to be on HBO Max.

"I'm so excited. We're going to have the best time. It's going to be great," Courteney said to host Kevin Nealon, adding that the Friends cast has never really properly reminisced about the show.

"We really haven't all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had. It's gonna be fantastic."

Not too many additional details of the reunion have been announced yet, but it was confirmed the special will be filmed at Stage 24 on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, Calif., which is where the iconic TV show was originally shot.

It will come to HBO Max in May 2020, as will all the previous episodes of the series. Fans of the beloved sitcom will know it left Netflix in December, so they will be pleased to see the show has a new home.

All the stars of the NBC show shared the news of the unscripted reunion on social media. David, Lisa, Courteney, Jennifer and Matthew uploaded a picture of themselves in a car. But Matt, who played Joey Tribbiani on the show, went in a different direction and hilariously shared a photo of the cast of M*A*S*H!

In October, the Friends cast also had a reunion of sorts. When Jennifer joined Instagram, she shared a photo of herself with the five other Friends stars. The viral picture increased speculation that the cast would reunite for a more formal filmed reunion.
