Ariana Grande reunites *NSYNC (minus Justin Timberlake) at Coachella 2019

In what might have been the worst kept secret of the week, most of *NSYNC reunited with Ariana Grande on stage at the Coachella festival on Sunday (April 14) evening.

Ariana, who was headlining the first of two sets she’ll perform at the festival, brought four members of the classic boy band out with her for her hit “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” which samples *NSYNC’s “It Makes Me Ill.” Lance Bass, J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick joined her to perform the hit. Justin Timberlake wasn’t there because he was wrapping up his solo tour.

After that, the four stayed on stage to help Ariana perform the *NSYNC smash “Tearin’ Up My Heart.” Ariana sang Justin’s parts. “Coachella, this has been a dream of ours! Thank you, Ariana!” the band shouted, before leaving the stage. “I can die now,” Ariana joked in response.

Fans wondered if Ariana would bring the boy band out with her during her performance when she began posting videos of herself singing to *NSYNC’s music. The rumours finally ended when Chris posted a shot on Instagram with Ariana just minutes before the show. The band also took a selfie with Ariana after the set.

*NSYNC weren’t the only stars Ariana brought out during her set on Sunday. She was also joined by Nicki Minaj for “Side to Side” and “Bang Bang” and P Diddy and Mase, who performed the classic “Mo Money Mo Problems” with Ariana. Diddy gave The Notorious B.I.G. a shoutout from the stage, along with 2Pac and Ariana’s late ex, rap star Mac Miller.

“She’s been through a lot, and she’s still standing,” Diddy said of Ariana’s experiences surviving the 2017 Manchester terror attack and dealing with Mac’s death last September and breaking off her engagement with Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson a month later. “Give it up for the number one artist in the world!” We’re glad you’re on top of the world, Ariana!
