Drake never ceases to surprise his fans! On Wednesday (Jan. 30), the Canadian rapper popped into a McDonald’s in Los Angeles, and as a thank you to the two women who served him, he gave them each a pretty awesome gift – $100 in cash!
One very lucky bystander happened to see the interaction go down around 4 a.m. when the "Nice For What" rapper arrived in with his entourage, tweeting that he saw the 32-year-old give them each a $10,000 tip. However, CNN confirmed that the donation was actually $100.
Drake shared a photo of his late-night munchies on Instagram, simply captioning the snap "M's." Clearly, he's a big fan of the fast-food chain!
The star – who shocked fans when his latest album Scorpion wasn't nominated for a GRAMMY this year – has made it somewhat of a habit to surprise his fans at random. At a concert after-party in October 2018, he gifted attendees McDonald’s french fries, cheeseburgers and McNuggets. Then in 2013, he helped an Ohio mom who lost her five children and boyfriend in a house fire cover funeral costs and the financing of a new car.
Most famously, for his video for “God’s Plan,” the 32-year-old handed out thousands of dollars worth of cash to those featured in the spot. He also gave the University of Miami $200,000 in scholarships. All told, it’s believed he gave away the entire $1 million budget allotted for the video to people in need.
After his “God’s Plan” giving spree, he took to Instagram and expressed his gratitude for being able to give back to the community. “Last 3 days were the best I have had in a very long time... there’s nothing like seeing people experience a joyful moment when you can tell they need it the most.”
