Justin Trudeau and 'Queer Eye' star Antoni Porowski to have 'Pride-themed brunch'

Queer Eye star Antoni Porowski is set to enjoy a very special homecoming during Montreal's Pride week (Aug. 9 to 19), including a Pride-themed brunch with none other than Justin Trudeau. The Liberal party took to Twitter to announce the collaboration between the Fab Five's resident food and wine expert and the Canadian prime minister, saying, "@Antoni Porowski and @JustinTrudeau will be in Montreal to celebrate #prideMTL and YOU have the chance to win a trip to join them!" alongside a graphic with the hashtag #LoveWins.

"Justin Trudeau and the Liberal team are working hard to ensure every Canadian has a real and fair chance at success -- including standing with LGBTQ2+ Canadians in support of human rights and equality," says the party's contest page, which offers an entry to anyone who donates. "There’s much more to do, and we’ve made inspiring progress together so far.

"That’s why we’re sending one lucky winner and their guest to Montreal to enjoy a special brunch reception with Antoni Porowski and Justin Trudeau during Pride weekend. Not only that, but we’ll throw in dinner on the town and some Liberal swag to make sure you’re ready for the Parade!"

Justin has long been a supporter of the LGBTQ community, becoming the first Canadian PM to march for Pride in 2016 and turning out at Toronto's 2017 parade with his family wearing a temporary tattoo of a rainbow maple leaf on his cheek. He's taken part in festivities across the country, including Montreal, Halifax, Edmonton, Vancouver and Ottawa.

Antoni, who was one of Hello! Canada's most beautiful people of 2018, was born in Montreal and attended Concordia University. He's the only Canadian cast member on the Netflix series, a reboot where five gay men help people make over their lives. He told HELLO! about what makes the show special, saying, “[Queer Eye] is about kindness … and we haven’t seen that in a really long time.” We wonder what tips he'll have for the prime minister!
