Shania Twain reveals details on new music at Stanley Cup finals

Shania Twain had hockey and music on her mind at the Stanley Cup finals last night in Nashville. During a break in play, the Canadian country superstar chatted with Sportsnet’s Scott Oake about Canada’s national sport and even dropped some details on when fans can expect new music from the country singer.

“The single [“Life’s About To Get Good”] is coming out on June 16 th and then the album is coming out in late August,” revealed Shania.

Like a true Canadian gal, the 51-year-old was in full hockey fan mode as she watched her team, the Nashville Predators, lose out on the Stanley Cup to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Despite the loss, the GRAMMY-award winning artist expressed how happy she is to see the country’s national sport being embraced by fans south of the border.

“All these years ago that I came to Nashville, there wasn’t even a hockey team. Then all of a sudden there was hockey and there was just a few spectators and now tonight, look at this! This is a genuine Stanley Cup event, where everybody’s just into the spirit of it and I feel really proud,” gushed the Timmins native.

Shania further explained that she feels that hockey is “infectious and Nashville has [caught] the bug.”

The mother of one gave her fans a taste of her new music at the Stagecoach Festival in May. In addition to debuting her single, Shania performed some memorable duets, including “Party for Two” with Nick Jonas and Kelsea Ballerini, who harmonized with the country icon on her hit track “Any Man of Mine.”
