Katie Holmes reveals how Suri Cruise handled Hillary Clinton’s election loss

Many women in Hollywood, including Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri Cruise, were devastated by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential loss.

On Wednesday morning (Mar. 29) TheKennedys: After Camelot star told Jenna Bush Hager during a chat on Sirius XM’s Jenna Bush Hager Show how her 10-year-old child was seriously affected over the democrats losing the election.

“I thought Hillary was going to win this year, and it was such a – it just hurt so badly when she didn’t - it hurt my child so much as a 10-year-old, and it really made me think, ‘Oh we have a lot … a long way to go as women.’”

The mother of one added that Donald Trump’s victory has made an impact on how she raises her own daughter. “We have to raise our girls to be very strong, not just for themselves, but to open the doors for other people. Because as hard as we think we have it, there’s so many women in the world that have it so much harder and we really need to be strong and help them. And help each other so that strength is number one and, having a great education,"

The 38-year-old actress is not the first star who has expressed their shock and distain over the former Secretary of State’s defeat.

Madonna, Katy Perry, Amy Schumer, Mark Ruffalo and many other celebrities took to social media to share their thoughts on the election results last November.

Even Toronto native and Arrested Development actor Will Arnett was not pleased with the American election. Will tweeted: "How do we explain this to future generations of women? And minorities? #weshouldbeashamedofourselves."
