Nicole Kidman opens up about her secret engagement to Lenny Kravitz

Nicole Kidman has revealed that she was once engaged to Lenny Kravitz. The 49-year-old made the surprising confession while talking about her new series Big Little Lies, in which she stars alongside Lenny's daughter Zoe Kravitz.

"Well, I knew Zoe because I was engaged to her father," she told Net-A-Porter's The Edit about her close bond with her castmate. "It's all in the family!

The pair were rumoured to be dating following Nicole's divorce from Tom Cruise, until now, neither had confirmed nor denied the relationship. There are clearly no hard feelings between the ex-loves, who were spotted catching up and laughing together backstage during the Hollywood Film Awards last year. "I love Lenny," Nicole added. "He's a great guy."

Nicole explained that when it comes to finding love, she always has a "very deep connection" with her partners. "I get engaged and I get married – that's my thing," she said at the time. "I don't want to date. I'm interested in a very, very deep connection."

Nicole, who is now married to Keith Urban, said Lenny is a "great guy."

Nowadays, Nicole is happily married to country singer Keith Urban, with whom she has two daughters, Faith and Sunday. The couple first met in 2005 and tied the knot a year later in Sydney. Keith has spoken candidly about his wife, admitting to Ellen DeGeneres on her eponymous show that he felt life began when he first met the Cold Mountain star.

"You're so sweet. I mean, it's so obvious how much you love her," Ellen said. "You said recently that your life didn’t begin until you met her." Keith explained: "No, because someone asked me if it was life changing meeting her. And I said that I think it was more like it was the beginning for me. I felt like I spent all the years leading up to that preparing. I didn't know what it was, but that's what it seemed like in hindsight."
