When celebrities add new members to their families, they’ll often call on famous friends to act as godparents to their children. Case in point: actress Jaime King (Hart of Dixie) calling on Taylor Swift, an undeniable role model to young fans worldwide, to take on the tender role for the baby she’s expecting.
Meanwhile, Jaime’s two-year-old boy James has two other well-known celebrities as godparents: Jessica Alba and That 70s Show actor Topher Grace. And there are plenty of other celebrity who’ve turned to famous friends to do the honours.
Elton John has ten godchildren, including Sean Lennon, Victoria and David Beckham’s children Brooklyn and Romeo Beckham and Elizabeth Hurley’s son Damian.
In turn, the Candle in The Wind singer, and husband David Furnish asked Lady Gaga to be godmother to their sons Zachary and Elijah. “She’s a great role model, she’s young, [and] she’s been a great godmother to Zachary,” said the British showman, explaining his decision to ask Gaga to take on the duty the second time around.
