Diary of the Week: Taste of Toronto and Sparkle

It was a delicious site as many of Canada’s top chefs and their biggest fans came for an exclusive preview of the upcoming Taste of Toronto. This July, the much anticipated event will bring the excitement of the ‘one of the world’s greatest restaurant festivals’ to North America for the first time. Fort York will most definitely be the place to get your “taste on,” and mix it up with celebrity chefs like David Chang and Mark McEwan, just one bite at a time.


Glimmering guests overtook all corners of The Drake Hotel, for “Sparkle,” presented by Sheena’s Place, a centre for hope and support for people with eating disorders. The night began with a lovely cocktail reception at the home of Loretta Rogers, a longtime champion of Sheena’s Place. From uptown to downtown, the party continued at the trendy hotel in Toronto’s west end where the funky event featured delectable hors d’oeuvres, signature cocktails, interactive entertainment, celebrity guests, silent auction, draws and more.
