The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have just added another person to their follow list on Instagram!
Every month, the couple follows particular Instagram accounts to bring awareness to particular topics close to their hearts. This month, they’ve decided to shine a spotlight on environmental conservation, and they just followed former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Last month, the politician launched Beyond Carbon, a campaign to end climate change.Members of the Royal Family are known for being passionate about protecting Mother Nature.
Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry took to Instagram on July 1 to share a collage of powerful images in support of the cause.
“As a continuation of our monthly social awareness approach to shine a light on the accounts that are working towards positive change, for the month of July we turn our attention to the environment,” they captured the snap.
Michael is tagged in the post, along with other organizations like the World Wildlife Fund, Dr. Jane Goodall, the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, Elephants Without Borders, the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy, and more.
“Well said. We must move faster to fight the climate crisis,” Michael commented.
Harry and Meghan had even more to say.
“There is a ticking clock to protect our planet - with climate change, the deterioration of our natural resources, endangerment of sacred wildlife, the impact of plastics and microplastics, and fossil fuel emissions, we are jeopardizing this beautiful place we call home - for ourselves and for future generations,” their post continued. “Let’s save it. Let’s do our part.”
In May, the new parents focused on mental health awareness, reducing their followers to 16 accounts including Anxiety U.K., the Kind Campaign, and Black Mental Health Matters. To commemorate Pride Month in June, they shined a light on organizations such as The Trevor Project, Stonewall U.K. and PFLAG.
