Alexa Chung - Biography
Born: November 5, 1983
Famous for: Presenting Channel 4's Popworld and working as a roving reporter on Gok's Fashion Fix
The youngest of four children, Hampshire-born Alexa was raised by her English mother and Chinese father. After being spotted by modelling agency Elite Model Management at the Reading Music Festival, she appeared in adverts and on magazine covers, before a change in direction led to her being asked to host T4's Popworld alongside Alex Zane. In 2007 she signed a deal with Channel 4 to present an array of shows, including Big Brother's Big Mouth and T In The Park, and the following January she was made one of the four T4 anchor presenters. In June 2008 Alexa became a reporter on style guru Gok Wan's new series, Gok's Fashion Fix, a role she describes as "pretty much my dream job". The show gave the savvy presenter, whose own quirky sense of fashion has made her something of a style icon herself, the opportunity to interview such big-name designers as Roberto Cavalli and Karl Lagerfeld. Since May 2008 the fashion-forward brunette, who started dating Arctic Monkey's front man Alex Turner in 2007, has also been the brand ambassador for Oxfam's ethical boutiques and fashion range.
