Helena Bonham Carter and Josh O'Connor sound off on Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan standing down

Helena Bonham Carter and Josh O'Connor think Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will be just fine after stepping down from their senior royal roles.

The stars, who play Princess Margaret and Prince Charles on Season 3 of The Crown, were inevitably asked about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Jan. 19.

"I'm sure they are very talented and can go off and do whatever they want," Josh said, according to Us Weekly.

"Absolutely," Helena commented. "I think the world is their oyster. It will be very interesting to see what they do, but now they're masters of their own destiny and good luck to them."

The cast of The Crown was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series at the SAG Awards. Helena and Olivia Colman also picked up nods for their roles, and were set to compete against each other in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

On Jan. 18, it was revealed that Harry and Meghan will no longer use their HRH status as part of an agreement into their futures. The couple will also repay public funds from the Sovereign Grant used to refurbish Frogmore Cottage, their UK home. The Sussexes will continue to maintain their private patronages and associations, but will no longer formally represent the Queen.

As part of this agreement, they will also no longer receive public funds for their duties. Harry will no longer be a Commonwealth Youth Ambassador or Captain General of the Royal Marines, a title he inherited from Prince Philip. The two will continue to be President and Vice-President of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust.
